OUR Tattoo Sanctuary

What is this “tattoo Sanctuary” I keep speaking of?

I know when I really got into tattooing, I was also going through a lot in my life. Art has always been a form of self-expression, a language of our own, and since I was a child I have always found solace in art. Tattooing is one of the most powerful forms of self-appreciation and self-expression in my opinion. I always refer to our tattoos, no matter how small or silly they may seem, as the marks on our timeline in our skin.

In looking back on my life and career, I can see how the tattoo studio has always been a place for “the rest of us.” It has given us a place to belong, to get sober, to learn to care for ourselves, and learn a trade to support ourselves too. For our clients, it has provided a place to take back their lives and bodies, heal, celebrate, grieve, have their “Fuck It” moments, and be the person they truly feel they are without judgment. Having a private studio has also given me a unique opportunity to connect with my clients and truly let them be who they are, inside and out, in the safety and serenity of the Tattoo Sanctuary I have built here for them and myself. We talk all the things, we laugh a lot, we cry because it's okay to do that (and not because the tattoo hurts), I help support and guide you to bring your tattoo dreams to life, and enjoy the day at the same time.

I also love doing cover-ups here in the Sanctuary. There’s something really meaningful about taking a tattoo that someone has struggled with for years and turning it into something beautiful, intentional, and completely their own. A lot of my larger floral and body-flow pieces actually begin as cover-ups, and I genuinely enjoy the challenge of finding creative ways to rework old tattoos into art that feels natural on the body again. What I hope my clients experience while in this studio

  • A place to feel safe and free from judgment while you embrace and become who you really are outside and inside.

  • A place to heal, mourn and celebrate the best and worst times in our life through the process and ritual of getting tattooed.

  • A place to mourn the things not openly accepted to grieve publicly.

  • A place to have your “Fuck It!” Moment, to free yourself.

  • A “You Day”, leave everything outside to focus on you while inside the studio.

  • A place to go when you have nowhere else that “gets it”.
